Hilda Lascari was a sculptor whose styles embraced classicism, art deco and surrealism. One of her porcelain heads was described as "an exquisite embodiment of classical beauty and placidity." (RMA)
In 1926, she won a gold medal from the National Academy of Design in New York.
Lascari, born Kristina Gustafson in Sweden, came to America in 1916, and proceeded to win prizes at the Academy and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in the 1920s and 1930s.
