John Giarrizo holds a BA from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio (cum laude, 1977) and MFA in painting and drawing from the University of Colorado, Boulder (1981).
He lives near Powell, Wyoming, with his wife Rowene and their two children Maria and Gianluca. He is associate professor of art at Northwest College in Powell, where he has taught for twenty two years. He was recently recognized with a 2002 Wyoming Governor's Arts Award.
