| A painter and educator, John Guerin taught at the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts from 1950 to 1952, and the University of Texas at Austin from 1953 to the 1970.
He studied at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, the Art Students League in New York, Escuela Bellas Artes in San Miguel, Mexico, and the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center.
