This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Joseph Grey and his two older sisters grew up in a small farming community in central Ohio. As a young man Joseph studied music and played in several orchestras and marching bands. He also played solos trumpet pieces for ladies social club events and at men’s club gatherings. He wrote and arranged music for a small jazz band he led and though that this would be his career. However, his love of art overcame his desire to become a musician.

Joseph has been drawing, painting in line, watercolor, oil and acrylics for years. His work has appeared in numerous national magazines and his work is represented in public and private collections.

Joseph is a graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design and holds a Masters Degree from that school. For more than 45 years he was an Art Director, Graphic Designer and Illustrator. He has won awards for Print and Television commercials.

At the present, he is retired from the advertising industry and is devoting himself entirely to fine art.
