| Born on Long Island, New York, Judy Glantzman studied at the Rhode
Island School of Design, earning a BFA and Silver Medal as Outstanding
Student. She has been a part time faculty member at the Parsons
School of Design in New York and at the Rhode Island School of Design.
In her artwork with spontaneous elements of abstract expressionism,
"figuration is a kind of imperative" and suggesting a "world teeming
with anxiety", range from figure paintings with dense head-like
clusters, multiple hands and disfigured faces. She has also done
a series of small sculptures of "grotesque figures made from Model
Magic and Super Sculpey."
