Julian Garnsey, a noted professor and active lecturer in the art community, was most well known as an accomplished watercolorist, muralist, and designer. The son of a muralist, Elmer E. Garnsey, Julian was born in New York City in 1887. He studied architecture and design at Harvard University and also studied at the Art Students League in New York. Then he to Paris to study privately under Jean-Paul Laurens and Richard Miller.
