| June Gertrude Groff (b. 1903- d. 1973)
Born on a farm in North Lawrence Township in Stark County in 1903, she was also a musician and studied art at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts on a scholarship. June (Gertrude) achieved success producing hand-painted fabrics for fashion designers in the 1940's. She was a Philadelphia painter and designer. She exhibited at the NY Worlds Fair in 1939 and in many other venues both here and abroad. Her work is in the collection of the Barnes Foundation, the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts and Pennsylvania State College.
She painted portraits of family members and and her flower art work was inspired by her sister's garden.
June passed away in Philadelphia in 1973.
