Kinsley Carpenter Gladding (1802-1866)
Kinsley Carpenter Gladding was born in 1802 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the son of Allen Gladding, a Providence grocer, and Charlotte Carpenter. Per biographical information, Gladding received his artistic training in Boston. Historical records primarily describe Gladding as an ornamental painter but he was also an engraver, sign painter, jeweler, etc. His place of business was in Providence at 131 South Main Street.(showing 500 of 4753 characters). |
