A member of the Hope-Tewa tribe, Larson Goldtooth, born in Ganado and
raised in Tuba City, has been a potter since 1993, although he has no
formal training. He began with small vessels, gradually moved
toward large pots, and now creates full-bodied clay figures that
usually depict ceremonial Indian dancers.
Of his figures, he says he is "trying to push Hopi clay in a different direction---beyond jars, pots, and vases." (Southwest Art)
He works in the kit (showing 500 of 1745 characters). |
