Mr. Godlewski, born in Cleveland, Ohio and now a resident of
Independence,Ohio, began painting in 1942 while in the Armed
Forces. He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and
Cleveland College.
He has exhibited throughout the United States and won many awards for
his design work, influenced by Orientalism, of using rocks and leaves
in their natural form.
He was one of the winners in the 1955 "May Show", his theme being
