Marshall Glasier was one of the leaders in Wisconsin of a group of artists who determined to bring European modernism to the Wisconsin art scene. His colleagues in this effort were Dudley Huppler and John Wilde in Madison, Karl Priebe in Milwaukee, and Gertrude Abercrombie in Chicago. They created art inspired by European Surrealism, the uniting of dream and reality on canvas initiated by a group of artists in Paris in the 1920s.

In Wisconsin, Glasier and his peers were rebelling particul (showing 500 of 2504 characters).
