| Born in Oscoda, MI in 1873. Gay studied at the Boston Museum of Art under Benson and Tarbell, and in Paris with Lazar, Cottet, and Menard. She was a resident of Cambridge, MA until 1909 and then settled in Los Angeles. She shared a studio there in the Walker Bldg with Helen Osborne.
