This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| From her studio in Monroe, Connecticut, Maureen Gallace does paintings
that send the message of "where I come from." (294). In realist
and semi-realist style, she often focuses on houses or
barns---structures that appear isolated and 'lonely', devoid of
sentimentality or nostalgia.
Gallace's working method is to use photographs for reference but in her paintings, she adds images from her memory.
In 2006, an exhibition of her paintings was held at the Art Institute of Chicago.
