This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Max Goldfarb creates installations from the shrapnel of items he has dismantled, especially small objects such as an explosion of model cars and trucks. He also does public drawings on New York streets such as baricading the street and arranging oversized batteries. These public drawings are then videotaped from rooftops and shown at gallery exhibitions.

"He's drawing our attention to the esthetic qualities of functional objects by removing their functionality" according to Tracy Adler, curator of Hunter College Art Galleries in Manhattan.

Goldfarb earned a BA degree from Syracuse University in 1991 and then moved to New York City. In 1999, he received a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant.
