| | Born in Plainfield, IN on April 18, 1882. Nichols moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 1906 and, after her marriage to Ray Grabill, moved to Seattle in 1910. Upon returning to Carmel in 1929 with her husband, a builder, she was active with the Carmel Art Ass'n and served as secretary and board member. Her specialty was small driftwood carvings which she modeled into figures of madonnas and biblical characters.
