Oronzo Gasparo was bor in Rutigliao, Italy in 1903 and died in New York in 1969.
He was an avid dancer and claimed to have brought the Rhumba to New York.
He studied at the School of Design and Liberal Arts in New York. He was mentored by Prestn Dickinson and was his favorite pupil.
He worked under the W.P.A. Easel Project during the depression.
During his lifetime he had over 40 one-man shows ranging from 1928 to a retrospective in 1974. (showing 471 of 897 characters). |
