A landscape painter of the American Southwest, Ralph Goltry was born in the Big Creek area near Chanute, Kansas and spent the early part of his working career as a sign painter.
He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute under Charles A. Wilimovsky, and after graduation in 1904, he then took off in his Model T Ford and toured the West. In 1922, he settled in Phoenix, Arizona and became a founding member of the Phoenix Art Guild. He was also active in the art community in Taos, New (showing 500 of 917 characters). |
