| Born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 22, 1906. Richard was the third-generation president of S&G Gump, a company started by his grandfather in 1861. From Stanford University, he studied at the CSFA under Spencer Macky, Arnold Blanch, and Otis Oldfield. During the 1950s he studied painting with Richard Yip who brightened his palette greatly. A man of many talents, Gump was also an interior designer, musician, composer, and author of Good Taste Costs No More. His watercolors, charcoal and pencil (showing 500 of 938 characters). |
