| Born in Gottenberg, NE on Aug. 9, 1908. Graveson moved to Oakland, CA in 1921. Following graduation from high school, he received an A.A. degree from San Jose State University and then attended the CSFA. He maintained a studio in the Oakland hills during the Depression while making trips to Mexico, the Orient, and Europe. About 1940 he and his wife, Alys, moved across San Francisco Bay to Marin County where they were involved in starting the Marin Art & Garden Center.
