| Born Pittsburgh, PA, July 28, 1909. Painter. Teacher. Earned a BA from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1931, a BFA from Yale University in 1935. In 1935-38 he held a Prix de Rome fellowship at the American Academy in Rome and studied Buon Fresco in Rome with Ferrussio Ferrazzi.
