| Robert Gniewek is a second generation Photorealist painter. He paints American roadside culture from the late 1940s and
early 1950s, and focusing on 'disappearing' parts of the landscape, documents small town
cafes and diners, gas stations, and motels. The artist’s approach
combines warm and cool light sources – natural light with neon – for
maximum visual impact.
As a Photo Realist, he uses three or four photographs of his
