The following is from Broschofsky Galleries:

Robert Grogan developed an interest in art at a very early age, spending much of his time drawing and painting. Discouraged by the emphasis on modern art during college, he turned to other career endeavors. As a young couple Robert and his wife, Lee, moved to Alaska, drawn there by the wildlife and natural beauty. Following a successful career in the field of natural resources, his desire to paint grew.

For a number of years, Robert has pursued painting full time, studying with masters of American landscape painting. Concentrating on painting on location, Robert travels extensively in search of painting subjects. His plein-air paintings reflect the spontaneity of a given moment, capturing light and shadow in vibrant, rich, and harmonious colors.

Robert is a member of Oil Painters of America and the California Art Club. In an effort to share with others his passion for painting, Robert teaches plein-air painting workshops as time permits.
