| A painter of genre scenes, figures much involved in their own lives, Stanley Goldstein lives in San Francisco and was born in Los Angeles. He often paints in the midst of human activity, setting up his canvas when he sees something interesting and then focusing on once character "who is compelling". Occasionally for detailing, he revisits the site or he uses a video camera or a sketch pad. In the spring of 2003, he had an exhibition in New York City of images of women at work at hot-dog stands a (showing 500 of 1028 characters). |
