| Stanley Walter Galli was born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 18, 1912. Galli's youth was divided between California and a ranch in Nevada. At age 12 he received a two-year scholarship at the California School of Fine Arts (San Francisco) and later studied in Los Angeles at the Art Center School. His illustrations appeared in Country Gentlemen, Sports Afield, McCalls, Reader's Digest, True, and Saturday Evening Post. He designed 26 postage stamps for the USPO.
