| Harold "Ted" Theodore Gordon was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 23, 1924. After high school, “Ted” Gordon moved to San Francisco and graduated from State College. Until his retirement in 1987, he worked as a mental health work in San Francisco and Los Angeles while drawing portraits with a ballpoint pen in his leisure. A self-taught artist, his works are held in the Smithsonian Insitution’s National Museum of American Art; High Museum, an Milwaukee Art Museum.
