A painter in oil and pastel of Southwestern landscapes, Valerie Graves lives in Ranchos de Taos, near Taos, New Mexico. She creates mountain scenes depicting the play of special light on mountains and valleys and mesas with sagebrush. She has been especially fascinated with the images and power of Taos Mountain and the Taos Valley, and she paints those subjects throughout the varying seasons.
