| | Born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 14, 1912. By the 1920s Gantner was painting scenes of his native city and studying at Stanford University. He was a color photography expert in Hollywood before going to London in 1938. A mental breakdown in the 1950s curtailed his art career.
