| Born in San Francisco, CA on Dec. 11, 1892. Gaskin studied at the CSFA, ASL in NYC, and in Europe. During the Depression he was co-director of the northern California Art Project for the WPA and later was on the San Francisco Art Commission. During the 1950s and 1960s he taught at the Schaeffer School of Design. His paintings were influenced by Oriental art and philosophy.
