This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| A long-time Dean of the Museum Art School in Portland, Oregon from 1931, he was a part of the Oregon regionalist movement spearheaded by Harry Wentz. His style was abstract and sombre in tone.
Givler spent time at Wentz's cottage sharing interest in depicting the state's landscape with other painters and exhibited in 1943 at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in an exhibition titled "Oregon Artists." |
