As a child in Colorado, Barbara Hermsen lived in the country southwest of Denver. Hers was the open space of lakes and foothills; racing sailboats, bareback riding, Saturdays on the ski train to the mountains.
After boarding school in Massachusetts in the mid-1960s, art schools, Syracuse University, and Pratt Institute, Hermsen pursued a career in advertising, which took her to New York to Rhode Island, to California and Washington State. She designed architectural signing, trade exhibits (showing 500 of 2379 characters). |
