Biography from AskART:
| A native of New York City, modernist marine painter Brita Holmquist spends her summers on Isleboro Island in Penobscot Bay. Her familiarity with the islands contributes substantially to her painting.
She studied at the Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and with Richard Serrin Florence, Italy. She then settled in Cumberland Maine, she lives and works during the winter months. |
