| Born in Seattle, Washington on August 31, 1908, Carl Hague settled in
San Francisco with his family when he was an infant. After
graduating from high school, he studied at the California School of
Fine Art, and then worked for Schmidt Lithograph Company.
During the 1930s he was a freelance artist and owner of the Packaging
Art Service with Mickey O'Shea. He was also a student at the
California Institute of Music and sang with the San Francisco Opera
Company.
