This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following, submitted April 2005, is from the artist.

Carol Heft began studying painting with American master, Robert Brackman, when she was twelve years old. She received her undergraduate degree from the Rhode Island School of Design where she met a range of artists including Leland Bell, Fairfield Porter, Judy Pfaff, and Louisa Chase, Younghee Choi-Martin, and Addison Parks. In her early years in New York City, Heft had a number of solo exhibitions. More recently, her work has been shown at the Washington Art Association, Washington Depot, CT., The Dubois Gallery at Lehigh University, The Fairleigh Dickinson University College Gallery, and the Blue Mountain Gallery in New York. Her work has been included in many juried shows in Europe, South America, and around the United States. Heft teaches drawing, painting, and art history at Muhlenberg College, Cedar Crest College, Moravian College, and Northampton Community College in the Lehigh Valley. She continues to work as a teaching artist with several arts in education programs in New York, mentoring teachers and working directly with students in public schools. Heft also has a background working with individuals with disabilities and a particular interest in developing special-education art programs.
