| A sculptor and teacher who ran her own school in Washington DC, Clara Hill studied with Augustus Saint Gaudens and in Paris at the Academie Julian with Denys Puech and at the Academie Colarossi with Jean Injalbert.
She was a member of the Washington Art Club and the Society of Washington Artists. Hill exhibited widely including at the Paris Salon in 1899, the National Academy of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Seattle Expo of 1909, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. |
