Born in Payette, Idaho, Clinton Hill became a painter in New York City of abstract color compositions with mystical, atmospheric* qualities. He also did collage*, constructions*, hand-made paper* works, and woodblock* prints.
He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1947, attended the Brooklyn Museum Art School from 1949 to 1951, earning a degree. He then spent two years in Europe, and in Paris, 1951, was enrolled at the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere*, and Florence at t (showing 500 of 4875 characters). |
