| The following biography is from the artist:
Darrell Hill, owner, operator and resident artist of the Country Frame Shop Gallery in Holualoa Hawaii, paints in a style that expresses the joy and spontaneity of island life. His use of color has been described as "courageous," and whatever subject he paints, he enters into the work with enthusiasm and abandonment.
Hill graduated from the Santa Barbara Institute of Art and has taught art at colleges in California, Arkansas and Hawaii. For eighteen years he was the creative director of a publishing company, leading a large staff of artists, writers and support personnel.
Influenced by the works of Sargent, Monet, Van Gogh and Gauguin, Darrells distinct bold impressionist painting style has emerged over the past few years as he has given himself to exploring and enjoying his gift.
