| | Born in Carlisle, England on May 27, 1894. Hamilton began her art study at Tullie House Art School in Carlisle in 1911. By 1922 she was enrolled at the University of Utah and in 1936 studied at the Rudolph Schaeffer School in San Francisco. During the 1930s she was active as a fashion designer and china painter. By the 1960s she had settled in Farmington, UT where she remained until her death in December 1986.
