| A painter who specialized in brightly hued French impressionist and California landscapes, Eleanor Hay was from Portland, Maine, and in the 1920s moved to San Diego, California. She studied in France with Victor Charreton and exhibited at the Paris Salon and in New York with the Society of Independent Artists. She was a member of the California Art Club.
