A painter and sculptor, born in Ogden, Ohio on September 23, 1860, Eli Harvey studied at the Cincinnati Academy of Art under Thomas Noble and Louis Rebisso, and in Paris at the Academies Julian and Delecluse under Jules Lefebvre, Benjamin Constant, and Henri Doucet. At the Jardin des Plantes, he studied animal sculpture under Fremet.
Returning to the U.S. at the turn of the century, he worked in New York City until the late 1920s when he moved to Alhambra, California. Harvey (showing 500 of 1771 characters). |
