Biography from ArtSanDiego:

Etta Hemphill was born in Washington on December 27, 1891.  Known for her watercolor renditions of the California landscape, Hemphill was a member of the Desert Art Center in Palm Springs, California.  She exhibited her works there and at other Southern California venues.  At the time of her death on April 19, 1989 she was living in Long Beach, California.
