| Born in Oakland, CA on April 2, 1876. Furber grew up on a ranch near Cloverdale and, after graduating from high school there, moved to San Francisco in 1895. The following year she enrolled at the Mark Hopkins Institute where she was greatly influenced by Alice B. Chittenden. Shortly after the turn of the century, she made a painting trip to Alaska and spent two years in Hawaii where she taught classes and painted the local landscape. Returning to California, Furber had studios in Cloverdale (showing 500 of 938 characters). |
