| Born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 14, 1887, Florence Keffer studied at the Cummings School of Art in Des Moines, the AIC, and the NY School of Fine & Applied Arts. She was a teacher in Las Vegas and New Mexico before moving to San Diego in 1919 as the widow of Edward Chenett. She worked there as a cardwriter and sign writer for the H. S. Kress Company for several years, and during the late 1920s taught at Evening High School. About 1930 she married Edwin H. Hale and remai (showing 500 of 963 characters). |
