|  A member of the Society of Illustrators and a teacher from 1947 to 1952 at the Rhode Island School of Design, Frank Herbst was born in Cairo, Illinois and lived in Newark, New Jersey. He received a B.F.A. from the Art Institute of Chicago, and his work is at the Marine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
