This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Frank O. Hamilton was a flight instructor at a naval base near Chicago in 1945 when he visited the Art Institute.  There he met Kay Sage whose works were being exhibited.  Sage offered to help Hamilton, an aspiring artist, make connections in the art world.  After graduating from Stanford University in 1948, he went to Paris with Sage’s letters of introduction.

An abstract expressionist, his works are held at the San Francisco Museum of Art, Oakland Museum, and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri.  Hamilton currently lives in San Francisco.
