| An actor who lived in Brooklyn, New York, Gabriel Harrison also painted landscapes and portraits and was photographer, one of the first to produce daguerreotypes in the United States.
In 1838 he joined the National Theater Company and made his profession debut in Washington, DC that same year.
Harrison moved to Brooklyn in 1848 and in 1851 organized the Academy of Arts. In 1863 he opened the Park Theatre in Brooklyn.
