| Born in San Francisco, CA on Jan. 24, 1913. Harris pursued a musical career until 1929 when he switched to art and entered the CSFA for a three-year study period. His art career was launched in 1934 as one of 26 artists selected to paint frescoes in Coit Tower for the Public Works of Art Project. (Subject of his fresco: Banking and Law.) After the College of Marin, he obtained a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He taught at San Francisco State College (1935), SFMA (1937-39), Stanford (1944-46 (showing 500 of 1387 characters). |
