| Painter. Born in San Leandro, CA on Jan. 11, 1892. As a child Goldie Powell began studying art locally with Goddard Gale. Leaving Oakland High School, she studied at UC Berkeley, CSFA, and Columbia University. She taught art in the public schools of San Rafael and Oakland (1913-23) and married Joseph Harding in 1920. About 1933 she moved to southern California and lived in Santa Monica and Palm Desert where she helped form the Palm Springs Civic Art Assn.
