Born in Bee Town near Bloomington, WI on Oct. 20, 1869, Grace Milner
Hawkins grew up in Iowa. Opting for an art career, she studied in
NYC with Twachtman and Cox at the Metropolitan School of Art.
From 1893 to 1897 she lived in Salt Lake City as the wife of Henry
Tinsley. A widow, she then joined her brother in Montana and
taught in a small country school in Columbus. She wed a teacher
at that school, Pliny Hawkins, in 1900. The couple had homes in
Absar (showing 500 of 1203 characters). |
