| | Born in Chicago, IL on April 11, 1901. Hardy studied art at the AIC and Audubon Tyler School while studying law at the University of Chicago and Harvard. After ten years of law practice in Chicago, he moved to San Francisco in 1937. For fifty years he practiced law as a specialist in patents, trademarks, and copyrights while painting in his leisure. His watercolors took top awards in California exhibitions. Hardy was a resident of Oakland and active as an artist until his death on Jan. 24, 1989.
