This biography from the Archives of AskART:

A painter of still lives, flowers, figures and large birds, Hoyt began her studies in art in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with Lydia Ely and Robert Schade subsequently studying with Carl Marr, Kavanaugh and P.W. Heine.  She dropped her art work for the next thirty years resuming studies with Heine and Dudley Crafts in Milwaukee and Mabel Key of Chicago.  She then attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago and took additional private lessons from Frederick Grant. 

A member of the American Federation of Arts, she exhibited in the New York Annual Watercolor Exhibition, Baltimore Watercolor Exhibition, Milwaukee Art Institute, and galleries in New York and Chicago.

Hettie J. Hoyt was born in Harvard, Illinois during the early 20th century.   She studied art under Carl von Marr, Frederick W. Heine and Frederick Grant. 

She was a member of the American Artists Professional League.  Her work can be found in the Daughters of the American Revolution Continental Hall in Washington D.C.
